British fashion icon Vivienne Westwood is teaming up with renowned streetwear and skateboard brand Palace for an exciting new capsule collection. This collaboration blends Westwood’s subversive and political design spirit with Palace’s distinctive streetwear edge, creating a collection that reflects the unique DNA of both brands.
Launching on 6th September, the Vivienne Westwood x Palace collection offers a mix of clothing, accessories, jewellery, and skateboards. The collection brings culture and humour to the forefront, incorporating elements that are integral to both Westwood’s rebellious fashion legacy and Palace’s playful, urban style. Key pieces include graphic T-shirts featuring teddy bears, statement denim garments, and a striking corset decorated with an image of Palace co-founder Lev Tanju’s dog, Stuart. Another standout feature is the revival of Vivienne Westwood’s iconic spring/summer 1992 ‘Salon’ print, which has been reimagined on a Gore-Tex jacket and matching skirt.
A significant highlight of this collaboration is that it marks Palace’s first official foray into womenswear, expanding the brand’s reach and offering a fresh take on its classic streetwear roots.
Andreas Kronthaler, creative director of Vivienne Westwood, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “From the first day I went to Palace years ago, I liked what they are doing. Their designs are made with quality, they are accessible and democratic. It felt natural for us to join forces; it was a very playful exercise, and it was a pleasure working with the team and making new friends.”
For Palace, this collaboration is a dream come true. Lev Tanju, co-founder of Palace, shared his excitement, saying, “It’s a massive thing for us: we love them, and we always have. To bring this collection to life was a dream come true and we wanted to shoot the collection in London, our shared home. Palace is independent, Vivienne Westwood is independent, and we admire independence.”
The collection will be available from 6th September in the UK, Europe, and the US, followed by a 7th September release in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, and Hong Kong. Customers can shop the collection at the brands’ flagship stores, online, and at Dover Street Market locations.
